Olympics is a big event where lots of people do sports some sports are swimming, Dressage,Jumping, Shot-pot and more. Olympics have rings and the colours of the rings are blue yellow black green red (As you can see the image) At Oympics you can get Gold Medals, Silver Medals and Bronze Medals.

Mufti Day
On Friday Term 2 Rakaia School had a Mufti day. Rakaia School had muft day because a group at Mahi Tahi were Saving the world and trying to get some money. Mrs Jenkins choose some kids to get a lollie-Pop for the best looking causal clothes. After all it was just a normal day at Rakaia School.

Monster Dress Up Day
Today day was monsters dress up! During the day the year seven and eights will visit every class and will vote on the best costume and we will get told at the end of the day. All the teachers are dressed up. At assembly they had it on a certificate and they would call out the most scariest looking monster. In l0Q Mollie-Kate won the competition.

On Thursday the 16th at 5.00 o'clock kids and their families came back to Rakaia school we had to bring along a plate of food for our tea. After the we walked out in the freezing cold weather to look through the telescopes we look at the moon, constellations and planets. Everyone had set up some chairs and blankets on the field some people had used the star chart app on there phone to see the constellations.

Did you now that Lionel Messi Strangled with his skills and missed goals often when he was first started football but he used persistence and is now one of the best in the world, sadly he has retired from international football. Lionel Messi shows that if you use persistence you can achieve your dreams no mater how big they are.

The Chinese Pinyin 10R 2016
Today at mandarin class we learned the Chinese Pinyin(alphabet).This video helped us learned the Chinese Pinyin and it was very interesting.
My Olympic art
For my AKO work ( independent) I had to create a logo that we would use if the Olympics were coming to NZ. This is my work. I think it's pretty good I created it on google drawing if I did it again I would try and draw it with a pencil to see if it would come out better and I'll also be able to colour the background.
Fun 10P Art
On Thursday 28th July 10P made flags of Country's that are in the Olympics. I did the Japanese flag and meg my friend did the Canada flag. Here is a picture of my half finished flag. We are using coloured paper to fill in the the parts that need colour it was very sticky but it was fun I liked art because we didn't just colour it in pencil and other stuff we used coloured paper.

we learnt how to keep ourselvs safe on the internet world and

On Friday the 1st of July 2016 there was a House Competition and we went to our first rotation of ICT and then we went to Art, and then we went to Mrs Markham for music. After that we went to Mandarin. It was fun.

My House Colour Day is really awesome because you get to dress up in your colours there is Blake for Blue, Shepard for Yellow,Hillary for Green and lucky last Rutherford for Red.

House colour day Rotation
Today it is house colour day witch means that we have to dress up in your house colour.

On Thursday the recipe for this is
200,g strong flour
5,ml spoon salt
7,g packet fast action dried yest
150,ml warm water
Equipment
sieve,mixing bowl,weighing scales,measuring jug,backing tray,palette knife and cooling rack.Method
1.preheat the oven to 220,C ,gas mark 7. Grease a backing tray.
2.Sieve the flour and salt into a mixing bowl.
3.Add the yeast and sugar.
4.Add the water and mix into a soft dough.
5.Knead the dough for 10 minutes.
6.Divide the dough into 4 and shape into rolls.
7.Place the rolls on the greased baking tray.
8.Cover the rolls and allow to prove for 30 minutes.
9.baking for 10-15 minutes,until golden brown.

Term two has come to an end. So I thought I would do a reflection on it.
I loved that we learned things in fun ways. I loved doing pop art and Anzac poems. Friday was thrilling and our blogging licence was fun to work on. I only wish that I had time to finish things. Next term I will try to finish all my work so that I can do other fun things as well.

ICT with Mrs Jenkins is really interesting because she teaches us how to use Google and how to work together in one document. Recently we have been using Blogger to get our Ninja Licences, so we can get our own, individual blogs. I hope I get my licence soon.

In Mandarin, we've been learning about the sports that are in China. There's Basketball, Rugby, Football, Hockey, Jump Rope and Shuttlecock. We played Shuttlecock and Jump Rope and it was really interesting. My favourite was Shuttlecock. I really enjoy Mandarin with Miss Zhong.

10 Q's cooking 10qs
Ingredients

My heart pounds deep in my chest. “LUCY!” I wail through the emptiness. The city vibrates. Cold blood rots on my leg. “Is it mine” i wonder. "Or is it Lucys?". Not knowing is better. Minutes past, hours, days, i lose count.The dark replaces my hope. Will I ever see light again? Rubbery smoke wonders through my lungs. Everything is slowly giving up.“Help” i whisper from what I think are my last breaths. Slowly..drifting..off...
I awaken in my bed, in the warmth of the sun light. I'm home. It was just a bad nightmare I sigh with relief. "Daddy! Daddy get up" "it's present time" soft mellow hands shake me. I gave Lucy her locket filled with picture of her and her mum, a beautiful smile spreads across her delicate face. And then a sharp pain escalates down my leg and everything’s black again..
I can't just lay here and do nothing, I need to find my baby girl! Yes everyone dies but not everyone lives and I haven't lived not yet! I shuffle to left, then right. I'm trapped. The light shines down, I see a sparkly shimmer. All hopes lost.

Then we have got Mandarin. Mandarin is fun because we don't have it every year and it is a new thing to do!!!!!! I am in Rutherford and I wish it will win against Sheppered.

Friday the 3rd June 2016. We had to dress up as the most crazy and the most funny monster for book week. The whole school had to dress up even the teachers dressed up. Every one looked so scary. The Teachers had the awesome costumes and looked very spooky.
