Divison
For Maths i did Division and i think i know how to do some division but i think i might need a bit more learning. I felt a bit nervous at first because i thought i could not do this, but it went alright. I felt alright about division. Division is very hard.60 divided 3 what you do is how many times does 3 go into 6 which mean how many groups of 3 can you make out of 6 and it equals 2 so then you go how many times does 0 go into 0 which is is 0 so it equals 20. Division is really hard!

Today we have made Savoury Pikelets there was three groups, my group was Jon, Cohen, Ella-rose, Allelie-rose and I.The Ingredients are
- 3/4 cup self raising flour
- 1/4 cup cheese (grated)
- 100 ml milk
- 1 egg
- 30 g butter (melted, cooled)
- 1 scoop butter (extra, for greasing)
- 1/2 carrot (grated)
- 40 g ham (deli) (thinly sliced)
- 1/4 cup onion, thinly diced

Throughout my Writing with Mrs Markham this term, we had set ourselves goals, my goals for this term that I needed to work on with my writing was my vocabulary. I needed to work harder to use words that are more challenging and interesting. I still also needed to work more on my past tense, I know that one day I'll get past these goals and become a better writer someday. All I need is Persistence.
Writing
This week in writing, we've been leaving about reports, most of you have got to flow of it. Everyone assesses there own writing, so we know what we're good at and what our goals are 😊 My report was about Ted (Theodore) Bundy, Theodore is a serial killer, I liked writing about him beacuase It was intresting knowing all the bad stuff he got away with and did. What he did was disgusting.
Winter Tournament was held in Ashburton the sports you could go for was netball,hockey,soccer. I went to winters Tournament playing hockey, the way you win is by getting points if you win you get 5 points if you tie you get 2 points if you loose you get 0 points. after a few games it was over and Rakaia school had won the hole competition. now on the 25 of August Rakaia school is going to Christchurch to play.

hhhtiin technology we are making keep safes, necklesses, or braclets out of pewter. Pewter is a speical exspensive silver. First we have to do paper work a brief, desgin modoifacaton and lots more, then we drew in a bass your desgin and cut it out filed the sides till they we even then we poured the melted pewter in the mold and let it set. We then got the silver out of the mold filed it, sanded it, and bufed it and now it has a mirror afect and its smoth.

During Maths, Mrs Paul's group has been preparing a trip, to The 2016 Rio
Olympics, we have been put into pairs, and have a budget of 15,000 dollars, for flights, Olympic Tickets, a place to stay, food, and sightseeing. The thing I don't like, is that we don't actually get to go on this Trip to Rio and back.

What I Have Been Doing in Writing
My group and I have just assisted our reports and I found out a couple of things I didn't know I was very good at and in the middle of completing my goal of tense.I realized that I really had to work on varying my sentences because most of them are really long when I write because for some reason I cant finish my sentences and carry on I have to get it all down in a sentence my teacher thought that the whole story was one sentence.
On the eighth of the eighth 2016 the primary and intermediate school came together to make teams of hockey, rugby, soccer, and netball to do tournaments in mid Canterbury. The teams did amazingly especially the Rakaia hockey teams who came first in their intermediate grade. Our soccer team got 4th with 3 wins and 3 loses and 1 draw.
10P Making Pizza
Yesterday we made Italian pizza.We were in a group of four I was with my friend Sherina,Teagan and Chloe.We had lots of fun making it but when we were making the dough it got really sticky but we added more flour and it got less sticky then we put the topping's on.Then the teacher helped us put it in the oven to cook.After 15-20 minutes our pizza was cooked.It was so yum.

This year I have learnt ICT and Mandarin ICT stands for Information Communication Technology we have to use Devices like Chrome Books and Ipads. Mandarin is a type of language in Chinese we learn it with a lady called Mrs Zhong she is wonderful at speaking Mandarin.

My mask
This mask is me because I love playing soccer and softball plus my family and my pets.
I used red blue and white cues they are the colors of New Zealand.First we had to design what we were going to put on are masks and then we put it on the mask. Then we had a choice to color it with pencil or paint i chose paint and this is it.

The last three weeks at technology the year eights have been working on lucky charms made out of pewter, pewter is a type of soft and semi expensive metal. We're aloud to make anything that isn't to big because it is expensive. Some people are making charms to go on bag zips and other people are making thing like a necklace, bracelet and safe keeps.

WRITING
WHAT MY WRITING GROUP IS LEARNING THIS WEEK
This week my writing group and I are focusing on how to write and structure a report, and we had just finished our sample writing for our teacher so she can check what level we are on, and once we have finished our session on reports we can look back on the progress we have made since the start of the session.My report was a factual report on the almighty Tyrannosaurs Rex which I found some very interesting facts that I never knew about T-Rex's.

Snow snow today it is snowing which is exiting the snow goes fast and slow but it was settling for a couple of min and I want it to settle so I can play in it and make a iglo that will be cool.
winter sports
Winter sports is a 1-day tournament. It is a fun game but sometimes you can get in Mid Canterbury soccer and get to go to Christchurch to play their teams. For soccer you will need to have shin guards so you don't get kick in the shins. if you don't no that i play soccer to i can't wait to play on Monday.
10P art
On Thursday after morning tea 10P had art with Mrs Gardyne. For art we made flags that represent the people in in the Olympics. Meadow my friend did a Japanese flag. It's not finished yet but it looks very good. Here is a picture of it. I struggled with mine because I had to draw the leaf. My flag was the Canada flag. Here is a picture of mine. We had to tare up the paper to get little bits. We had a great time!!!!!!
