the life of the sea

The life of the sea
Day
Sunlight sparkles anonymously across the vast sea of blue while sending waves crashing in a Mexican wave against the looming cliffs
Night

Turtles dance across coral reefs searching for empty beaches to nest on
Day
Hector's dolphins chatter and bark in a continuous melody while hermit crabs scuttle through endless sand dunes
Night
Schools of fish search hopelessly for a night's shelter away from   famished tiger sharks
All forming the life of the sea

  1. Emma, this is a sensational poem that you have written. I love it. The language and structure is beautiful. I think you should enter a poetry competition. Here is a link to the Caselberg Poetry competition that is coming up in June/July. Do you think you should enter? http://www.caselbergtrust.org/caselberg-international-poetry-prize-update/
