Olympics is a big event where lots of people do sports some sports are swimming, Dressage,Jumping, Shot-pot and more. Olympics have rings and the colours of the rings are blue yellow black green red (As you can see the image) At Oympics you can get Gold Medals, Silver Medals and Bronze Medals.

Hello fello bloggers we are concentrating on the Rio Olympics we have been given home work and school work about it in digital
here is my home work
Research the Olympic rings, what do they mean and symbolise? Who created them and when? Where did he get the idea from?

Create a new game or sports that could be played at the next Olympics, Describe what environment it is played in and discuss the rules.

Design a daily menu for an athlete competing at the games. Your menu will consist of a whole day of food. Think about what the different athletes may eat (depending on what sport and if it is the day of competing, day before etc) State each meal with times and explain why your athlete would eat this.

Imagine if the next Olympics were held in Canterbury. Thousands of visitors would come here from all over the world. Where would the different events be held? Where would they stay? How would they get around to the different venues? What else would they do while they are here? Make a plan for the Canterbury Council to help them prepare!

As well of having the new classroom Rakaia School also is part of a really cool gifted program called Mind Plus. I am one of 15 students that go to the Thursday class. At Mind Plus I got teached a really cool thing called SCAMPER.

Mufti Day
On Friday Term 2 Rakaia School had a Mufti day. Rakaia School had muft day because a group at Mahi Tahi were Saving the world and trying to get some money. Mrs Jenkins choose some kids to get a lollie-Pop for the best looking causal clothes. After all it was just a normal day at Rakaia School.

Monster Dress Up Day
Today day was monsters dress up! During the day the year seven and eights will visit every class and will vote on the best costume and we will get told at the end of the day. All the teachers are dressed up. At assembly they had it on a certificate and they would call out the most scariest looking monster. In l0Q Mollie-Kate won the competition.

On Thursday the 16th at 5.00 o'clock kids and their families came back to Rakaia school we had to bring along a plate of food for our tea. After the we walked out in the freezing cold weather to look through the telescopes we look at the moon, constellations and planets. Everyone had set up some chairs and blankets on the field some people had used the star chart app on there phone to see the constellations.

Lionel Messi never gave up
Did you now that Lionel Messi Strangled with his skills and missed goals often when he was first started football but he used persistence and is now one of the best in the world, sadly he has retired from international football. Lionel Messi shows that if you use persistence you can achieve your dreams no mater how big they are.
